Startup
- Before connecting the power supply: make protective earthing in the terminal box and on the stator housing
- No explosive media may be present in the environment during installation
- Make the connections carefully, consider tightening torques
Air spaces in the terminal box must be absolutely respected
Use terminals with insulated shaft only - Cable entries must comply with the ATEX regulations and the protection of the motor
Note strain relief for the cable, close the terminal box sealed
Close unused openings of the terminal box with ATEX-approved plugs. - The engine must be protected against overheating due to overload
(Motor protection switch or thermal winding protection TW with release)
Use only ATEX compliant protection equipment! - Charging or sparking on the paint layer due to friction or moving parts must be prevented
Inspection and maintenance
- For repairs and maintenance work, the standard EN60079-19 and the standards for explosion protection have to be observed.
- Do not open the terminal box under explosive atmosphere when the engine is hot or is under tension
Open the terminal box not earlier than 30 minutes after shutdown - Do not open the condensation drain hole under explosive atmosphere when the engine is hot or is under tension
Open the condensation drain hole box not earlier than 30 minutes after shutdown - Clean drive regularly.
If there are dust layers larger than 5mm or dust clouds, the permissible temperatures according to DIN EN60079-14 paragraph 5.6.3. must be observed. - Use only original spare parts
- The products are delivered from the factory with a coating that meets the requirements against electrostatic charging according to DIN60079-0.
When repainting, the requirements against electrostatic charging according to DIN60079-0 must be observed.
