Important informations
Live parts, rotating parts and hot surfaces of electrical machines can cause serious injury or property damages.
Installation, connection, start-up and maintenance has to be performed by qualified personnel.
The safety instructions, the installation and maintanance instructions, the project documents and the relevant national, local and system specific safety requirements must be observed.
- We reserve the right to make changes of all informations provided from this program.
- Any damage found to have been caused during transport should be notified to the freight forwarder without delay.
- Damaged products must not be taken into operation.
- The observance of the installation and maintenance instructions is condition for safe operation and to fulfill warranty claims.
- The products may only be stored in closed, dry rooms, protected from mechanical damage and vibration, permissible ambient temperature for storage: 0…+60°C
In case of long-term storage, consultation with the manufacturer is necessary. - The lifting lugs provided have only be designed for the weight of the product, additional loads must not be attached.
These instructions are not meant to cover all details concerning any possible design and applications.
In case of doubt, contact the manufacturer!

Service
If you need our service, please indicate the following:
- complete nameplate information
- detailed description of problem
- if possible, add digital images to the description
The identification of spare parts requires the nameplate data of the product with the manufacturers serial number.
Disposal note
Dispose the products properly and in compliance with local regulations
- Gears, shafts, bearings as steel
- Gear housing as aluminum or iron
- Worm wheels as non-ferrous metal
- Lubricants must be collected and disposed properly
- Motors as motor scrap ingredients aluminum, iron, copper, plastics
- Electronic components as electronic scrap
Mechanical installation
- Before mounting, remove the corrosion protection of the output shaft and grease the shaft surface
- Motor installation free of shock and tension
- Pay attention to alignment when using a coupling
- Use the threaded bore on shaft end for fixing transmission elements, avoid shocks, cover coupling parts in operation
- Components fitted on motor shaft have to be ballanced dynamically.
Rotors are ballanced with half key in factory. - After installation check sufficient ventilation of motor
Keep the ventilation channels free, attend the minimum space for ventilation
Avoid intake of heated air. - Prevent insertion of foreign objects in vertical motor position
- Choose place of installation according to the protection standard of the motor.
- Consider maximum length of screws when fixing the motor flange B14.
Electrical Connection
- Connect the motor to the main free of voltage, (disconnected and secured against start up), made by qualified personnel, with consideration of valid restrictions
- Consider informations on name plate
Type of current, mains voltage and frequency have to be compliant to name plate data. Deviations in graph and symmetry increase the motor temperature and can affect the electromagnetic compatibility.
Consider type of duty and type of protection of the motor
If not otherwise stated:Duty cycle S1, permissible ambient temperature -20°C..+40°C, installation altitude up to 1000m above mean sea level - Consider electrical connection and supplied date sheets
- Use motor protection switch or full motor protection
- Execute the electrical connection safely and permanent
Execute the protective ground safely - Tightening torque for terminal board connections: M4-1.2Nm, M5-2Nm, M6-3Nm, M8-6Nm
- Consider minimum clearances in terminal box: Un≤550V 8mm, Un≤725V 10mm
Pollution, moisture and foreign substances are not permitted in terminal box
Close terminal box and non-used cable entries dust and water proof
Use terminals with insulated shaft only - Direction of rotation: CW at connection L1-U1, L2-V1, L3-W1
Change direction of rotation: exchange of 2 main cables (L1↔L2) - Consider installation notes of inverter for motors with integrated frequency inverter

Electrical Connection - Encoder system
- EMV conform wiring is base of unfailing function
Use shielded cable only!
Make attention to cable quality (e.g. towing cable) - Shield the cable on both ends, use whole cross section of wiring
Startup
- Check insulation resistance of winding before startup. The value should be ≤1.5 MΩ.
- Check the correct function of brakes for braked motors.
- Fix the key on motor shaft at start without coupling.
- Use drive temporary without load and check for irregularities
- Check current consumption with load, detect reason of variances (vibrations, noises) or abnormal increase of temperature. If necessary, contact manufacturer.
Vibration severities between 3 and 4 mm/s with load are harmless
Inspection and maintenance
- Clean the air intakes periodically in case of heavy contamination
- Check motor bearings regulary, replace if abnormal noise or warming, recommended change after 3-4 years.
- Check installed seals, replace if damaged
- Pay attention to proper mechanical and electrical connections
